So, it's been a very long time since I have posted anything on the SD forums so I thought while I had time, I might try to get back into the swing of things... So, while I have been preparing for my upcoming school year (a Master's in Game Development), I have been playing through my game library again. This lead to many revelations on the interesting things game developers have tried to make games in common genres different. Some of these ideas have worked well while others...
Ok, so, I know that Mario Kart Wii came out a long time ago... So long ago that I can't really remember (that it means much... I barely remember what I did yesterday). But, I figured I'd finally get my 2 cents in now that I've got a good handle on the game. Alright, now, let me say first, I am a DIEHARD Wii Wheel fan. Omg... It makes me happy just to put it in my hands... Plus, I'm fairly adept with it (I can challenge all 32 Fast Staff Ghost times with it, Baby Luigi and the Bullet Bike), so...
So, since school started last month, I have been MIA from the world of JoeUser and Stardock and whatnot... I know, ya missed me It's alright though, I won't tell anybody. So, as a filler for those who may happen to stumble upon this, I'm a sophomore Computer Science major at the University of Michigan (it's in the States for those who haven't heard of it) Since I came into my freshman year with 30 credits (through this and that) I was "technically" a sophomore last year but it doesn't re...
So, a little background... I go to school in about... 3 weeks. I need new books to read instead of doing my homework/study. Last year I went through a plethora of books (the entire Harry Potter Series, a bunch of Redwall books by Brian Jacques, some Garth Nix, more stuff by David and Leigh Eddings and a little Kurt Vonnegut for fun). I was wondering if anybody could suggest some good, new reading material to entertain me! Stand-alone or series! Thanks!
So, I've been scoping these forums for quite some time and felt I should voice my opinion (cause I think it ROCKS! ... just like everybody else ). So, firstly, I'm not politically active at all. In fact, I HATE politics. They're stupid. But, they are important to how the US was built so I tolerate it. And yes, I'm gonna vote now that I have that right. So, I'm going to explain why I dislike BOTH candidates! Huzzah! It sounds like fun, now everybody can not like my opinion . McCain - ...
So, as many gamers know, game series, with the exception of most RPG and sports games, come in either single games or trilogies (ex: Halo). Now, personal favorite is said trilogy fashion. Why you ask? Well, because that way one can grow and develop along with the storyline along with the main characters (very nice!). So, I wanted to get other people's opinions on trilogy games! Talk about your favorites. Mine, for example, is the Sly Cooper games for the PS2. There are 3 of them... ...
So it's Friday. And a grand Friday it has been. A promising weekend lies ahead, despite the news forcast saying "IT SHALL RAIN FOREVER AND EVER." But oh well. I decided that it would be nice to have a few blog entrees about the weeks events. You know, blow some steam before the weekend after a "stressful" work week. So, first off, introduction. I'm one of 3 Jeff's currently working at Stardock (and unfortunately I sit right behind a far more important Jeff then myself, so I've learned to igno...
So, I've been meaning to do this for a while, since I like to write my game impressions before I finish the game (to ensure that I don't accidentally post spoilers for those that haven't played ). So, currently i'm about... 70% done with Assassin's Creed and let me say... it has been unbelievable so far. Graphics = Amazing, Gameplay = Amazing, Plot = Amazing. A few minor things so far but here's the scoop... --Overlaying Story-- Firstly, I'm only going to cover stuff early in the game...
Alright, I accidentally misplaced this earlier so I'm adding it here instead... (this was written yesterday) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So, it has been a long two days at Stardock. I decided that I should write away my troubles before I go out tonight since honestly, who wants to be all distracted before they go to the movies? Nobody that's who. So, yesterday I woke up all sick to my stomach and ...
So now that I have a job and get some money every other week, I felt the need to splurge a little bit on video games. So I go to Best Buy to get Mario Kart Wii and they're fresh out... So I search around and end up getting Lost Odyssey for the XBox 360 instead. One of my friends up at school had it, and it looked fun so I figured may as well... So here's my thoughts so far: So, I've never really been a big fan of the run around the world randomly running into enemy games such as Final Fantasy...
