Obama vs. McCain

I'm kind of sick of all this stuff...

So, I've been scoping these forums for quite some time and felt I should voice my opinion (cause I think it ROCKS! ... just like everybody else ).

So, firstly, I'm not politically active at all. In fact, I HATE politics. They're stupid. But, they are important to how the US was built so I tolerate it. And yes, I'm gonna vote now that I have that right.

So, I'm going to explain why I dislike BOTH candidates! Huzzah! It sounds like fun, now everybody can not like my opinion .

McCain - The main thing that bothers me about McCain is his HARDCORE supporters. The main thing that bothers me about them is the use of Obama's middle name in a derogatory and offensive way. So what, his middle name is Hussein. Big whoop! My middle name could be Jesus-Christ but that doesn't make me Jesus! (although I HAVE figured out a clever way to walk on water... It's called a REALLY shallow puddle). Calling him by "B. Hussein" is just an offensive and dirty tactic to make people fear that he may be like other Hussein's. Although I do know plenty of people with a name of Hussein who are awesome. It's offensive. Please stop.

Obama - My main problem with Obama is his battle with Hillary (also why I don't like Hillary). Yes, I understand that Hillary started it and Obama said "I don't want to fight like that" and only started when it was becoming apparent that he needed to. Still, if you can't win by playing just your policies then you don't deserve it. So, had Hillary one, I wouldn't have liked her either. Plus, calling McCain 'McSame" is kind of silly and I like it. Not offensive but it gets a point across that you believe he has the same ideas as everybody else. Touche.

The only candidate I liked was Dennis Kucinich because he was the only one that flat out said on TV "I support Gay Marriage" (which I do as well) instead of avoiding the question. But, that's why he lost too. Major bummer.

So, as you could probably tell, I base my votes primarily on candidate character. Yes, my reason for McCain wasn't personal character but still. The ideas of both candidates are similar, just phrased differently with a slightly different approach.

So... take the gloves off and let the punches fly .

If you don't like the two major party candidates, I don't either mind you, check out the third party and independent candidates. Specifically the big ones: Bob Barr (Lib), Ralph Nader (Ind), Cynthia McKinney (Green), and Chuck Baldwin (Con).

They are all better candidates simply by the fact that they aren't Democrates or Republicans. If you are more of a conservative stick with Bob Barr or Chuck Balwin, if you are more on the liberal side go with Nader or McKinney. I am personally torn between Bob Barr and Ralph Nader. I would vote for Bob Barr but he is pro-life which makes me lean towards Ralph Nader. I'll see what happens in the next couple of months.

I agree on the major 2, and agee on the 3rd parties. I think the author is going to go for Cynthia Mckinney, but I am going Bob Barr.

Dreamer, the place you will get the most disagreement on is why you dont like the candidates. Most people here dont really like either - liberals and conservatives. The best thing to happen to unify most of the sides at JU was the nominating of these 2 candidates.
